VatLab is a specialist SaaS provider helping large organisations recover missed GST through deep data analysis. Expanding from South Africa into Australia and the UK, they were introducing a relatively unfamiliar service into mature, risk-aware finance markets — where credibility, clarity and confidence are essential from the first conversation.

VatLab came to us with a unique service, a strong underlying value proposition and a sense that something wasn’t quite landing. While the concept — recovering missed GST without disrupting finance teams — was generating interest, prospective clients weren’t following through.
As a relatively unknown entrant in Australia, the challenge wasn’t awareness alone, but trust. VatLab needed to clearly explain what they did, how they did it, and why it was safe — without overloading time-poor CFOs and finance teams or undermining the rigour of the service.
We ran a focused 10-week sprint to clarify VatLab’s positioning and rebuild confidence in how the brand showed up. Visually, we softened the tech-heavy aesthetic, introduced a more open hierarchy, and added light, human touches — making the experience feel approachable without sacrificing precision or credibility.
On the messaging side, we developed three positioning directions, landing on one that framed VatLab as your finance team’s smartest extension. This gave the team a clear articulation of where they fit, how they add value, and why their service is different — without asking prospects to stretch their trust too far, too fast.
We rolled the new direction out where it mattered most: in the tools the team relies on every day. From a sharper sales flyer and clearer pitch deck to a more credible website, VatLab now has a consistent set of assets that support confident, trust-building conversations. The outcome wasn’t just a refreshed look, but a brand and toolkit that help move conversations forward — turning curiosity into informed interest, and interest into action.
